Customer was looking for modern bookshelves for a study in a newly remodeled NYC apartment. The design accommodated the entire wall, spanning the entire width and height of the room. The size of the finished piece presented challenges, as the customer didn’t want any seams showing and wanted uniform thin profiles all around. We designed the unit in 5 sections that were brought up and assembled on-site and then trimmed out and finished to achieve the desired look. The unit was made entirely from solid white oak, with white oak plywood for the bottom panels. It was finished using a hard wax oil that provides a durable yet understated elegant protective finish.
